Let's start with the "other information" first. It has been a long week full of interesting goings on. First, I received my diploma this week, making my graduation from ECU, very official.
The only thing that concerns me about it is it only lists my BFA in Art Education, not my BFA in Art or my Art History Minor. I don't know if they only put your primary degree on you diploma, or if they send you separate diplomas. If I haven't received another one within the next week, I think that I might call the registrar's office and inquire. I want all of my hard work to be reflected on this piece of paper, not just part of it.
The other thing that happened this week that is worth noting is that I hung my work up at Red Star Coffee in downtown Pittsboro. Make sure that you go and check it out. It will be up through August 1st.
All but two of my pieces are for sale. Here is the information again for Red Star:
Red Star Coffee
53 Hillsboro Street
Pittsboro, NC 27312
Mon - Sat:7:30 am-6:00 pm
Lastly, I just wanted to let you know that I got my new postcards in the mail yesterday. Let me know if you want one. I will be taking a stack up to Red Star later this week, so if you go in to look at my work, grab a cup of coffee and a postcard. Now, on to my latest endeavor: doll making. Things progressed very slowly this week it seemed. I fixed her head, added her arms, put hair on her head, and began her costume.
Dol Shoes! They are made out of the same material as the robe. I initially wanted to do more beading on them than I did but I figured no one would see them since they will be covered by her robe and dress and since I was doing so much beading on the robe, the beading on the shoes needed to compliment, not compete, with the beading elsewhere.
Until next week!
