Artist Statement I have always had a strong passion for art and design. It is a powerful means of contact with oneself and one’s own potentialities.
I work in a variety of different media, but all of my artwork has its roots in textile design. I explore a multitude of materials and push the boundaries of what is traditionally considered fiber. Additionally, I combine several different fiber techniques within a single piece and push these processes into nontraditional territory. For example, combining stitching with drawing and painting. I place a strong emphasis on process and unify my pieces around a central concept.
Nature, science, philosophy, emotions and literature are a constant source of inspiration.
